Love Me Do

Well, HELLO 2018!! I don’t know about y’all but I was MORE than ready to say “Bye Felicia!” to last year ;) overall, the past 365 days were decent = my husband and I went on some trips, my upholstery business stayed steady, I grew stronger in self, and all of our furbabies managed to stay healthy. However, due to the current political climate of our country, the numerous sexual predators that were named [you broke my heart, Kevin Spacey] AND the drama I personally experienced with some of my so-called “girlfriends,” I was eager for a fresh start. A new slate. I mean if 2017 taught me anything it’s that you’ve got to have your own back at all times, and sadly, STOP putting others before yourself. The ONLY person who will take the best care of you is YOU! So buckle up, buttercup :) because this is the new and improved Jenna!

And let me be the first one to tell you = she has absolutely no f*cks left to give in regards to others opinions of her. Yeah, you read that right! I am going to be creating more, working harder than I ever have, expanding my business to include my design aspirations, all the while, practically eating the rainbow by embracing a “more is more” color palate completely across the board AND even evolving the blog into something MUCH big and better than its current state [yes, changes are headed your way] it’s just time to let my extreme eccentricities shine through, which brings me to Pantone’s Color of the Year!

See every year, the experts at the Pantone Color Institute pore over research in design, food, fashion, art and entertainment to forecast the color of the year :) and this year, it’s Pantone 18-3838 Ultra Violet — described as a dramatically provocative and thoughtful purple shade, that communicates originality and ingenuity; lighting the way to what is yet to come. How rad is that?! Enigmatic purples have long been symbolic of counterculture, unconventionality, and artistic brilliance, so in my colorful opinion, its timing is PURE PERFECTION as I embrace the new ME and embark on this improved creative path.

And that’s why when my husband gave me this Alice + Olivia skirt from Stacey’s recent collab with The Beatles, I knew the exact shade of top I wanted to pair with its rainbow-tastic glory = Ultra Violet. I ADORE its cosmic meaning; just as much as I’m obsessed with the skirt’s lyrical quote. Because I do LOVE ME DO. I really, really do ;) there’s just one Jenna in this world and I’m going to let her BLOOM!

“Love me or hate me, both are in my favor. If you love me, I will always be in your heart, and if you hate me, I will be in your mind.” — Qandeel Baloch

So stayed tuned for new things ahead :) I know I’m being a bit ominous with the FUN details but I just can’t divulge them quite yet. Some will be very apparent as they happen . . . others will be like when Beyonce dropped Lemonade on all of us overnight. Lol! I do promise though that it will ALL be worth the wait ;) have a wonderfully energetic first week of 2018, y’all! Let’s grab that creativity right by the horns!
