One of my favorite kinds of outfits are ones that seamlessly go together.
The ensemble I am wearing today is that very sort of outfit. It first came about a couple of weeks when I was a wee-bit stressed about getting work done before our Cabomoon, I thought I was catching a cold or something, AND was running late in getting ready for the Spring Trend Report Luncheon at Neiman Marcus that was happening at noon that day . . . WHICH is an event I love going to by the way but really wasn’t feeling up to it all things considered :/ long story short, I simply needed a new look from my closet and needed it like thirty minutes ago. Lol. And for whatever reason, that’s when MAGIC usually happens for me and my wardrobe. Call it luck, sheer brilliance ;) WHATEVER YOU WANT! Haha. It just happens and it happened for me that day.
I knew that I wanted to wear my new brillantly-hued sweater [isn’t it gorgeous?!] and then suddenly realized that the red in the sweater most likely matched the red, dual-stripe on a pair of cut-off denim I own. From there, I continued to play-off the sweater’s colors by pairing the outfit with my neon green glasses and red sandals. And then because it’s “winter” here in San Diego and I’ve become a giant California [enter adult term here] I knew I would most likely be needing another layer because, well, Jenna is cold all the damn time! SMH. Well, as LUCK would have it, I had just received this newly-released, NAVY blazer from Cabi. I mean it MADE the outfit complete, y’all, with it’s perfectly-matching dark blue color and sporty detachable cuffs! Plus, since the blazer had these fantastically gold, nautical buttons, additional accessories for the ensemble was a no brainer = gold stud earrings, a gold engraved necklace and my gold, faux license plate clutch. Easy-peasy!!
This look was everything I needed it to be that day and then some! It was both polished and fun AND received many kind compliments while at Neiman, which is always nice for a #stylecrazed gal like myself ;) and as of lately, it has also become an immediate “go-to” for my meetings with upholstery clientele. Yep, the outfit is a definite winner over here in this gal’s wardrobe!
“Contrary to conventional wisdom, the blue blazer’s a bit of a loose cannon. A suit decided long ago what it wanted to be, and it doesn’t want to hear your ideas, but a blue blazer only got around to half the job. So it leaves it up to you to find its bottoms. Gray slacks, blue jeans, patterns, white pants and different blue shades all work.” — Willie Geist
SO, do you have a story of an ensemble that easily came to be when you were panicking in your closet in nothing but a towel and shower-drench hair?? Hehe. I’d love to read about it :) feel free to share it in the comments below!
