Holy mackerel! I don’t know about y’all but I think it’s absolutely bonkers that it’s already Thanksgiving week!! That means I’ve got another meal to fix, my 32nd birthday is right around the corner AND then BAM! It will be Christmas!
Wait. WHAT??? That’s right! I also co-hosted a Blogsgiving this year with fellow blogger, Paulina from Lil Bits of Chic — an intimate gathering of six San Diego Style Bloggers at the recently renovated CUSP Restaurant on the eleventh floor of Hotel La Jolla.
It was a nice way for us to come together, celebrate our individual styles, and catch-up on each others projects . . . but more importantly, it was a special opportunity to taste that fantastic new Fall menu by Chef Ingrid Funes!
Then it was time for the main course. Chef Ingrid Funes specializes in seafood, so all of us ladies opted for just that. This is four of the six dishes that night. Let’s just say that Ingrid definitely knows her way around a kitchen!
Just when you thought it possibly couldn’t, our experience at Hotel La Jolla just kept getting better and better. The food was seriously so-so good. It’s definite a place I will come back time and time again.
And then CUSP Restaurant took it up another notch and did us in with the desserts. I had a dish called “Deconstructed Pavlova” that I had never tried before [bottom left] the only dessert I can compare it to is a Key Lime Pie, but a more berry-tastic version of it. Yeah, Jenna likey.
We had such a good time at Hotel La Jolla. So much so, we decided to end the night with our own version of those iconic “Housewives” posed photos. So ridiculous I know, but I think we sort of nailed it ;)
And then I had to go ruin it by goofing off with my cohost Paulina . . . a huge thank you to Hotel La Jolla, CUSP Restaurant, and Chef Ingrid Funes for giving us such a wonderful Blogsgiving. I also want to give a big shout-out to Melissa from Madmade Designs for our table’s gorgeous floral arrangement and Louie from 656 Photography for finely documenting the entire event. And last but not least, my cohost Paulina from Lil Bits of Chic and our fellow blogger friends. It will be an evening I think back on and smile about again and again. Sincerely, if you are looking for a place to wine and dine family and/or friends this holiday season, please look no further than CUSP Restaurant in Hotel La Jolla. The food is second-to-none, valet is comped for the restaurant [how rad is that?!] AND if you mention “Blogsgiving” to the hotel lobby’s front desk between now and January 31st, you will receive a coupon for one free glass of house choice wine with the purchase of an entrée (offer valid Sunday – Thursday nights only) I promise you it will be a foodie experience you won’t soon forget. Bloggers honor!
