See my husband and I are hosting a “Couplesgiving” at the beginning of November with some of our with our closest “couple” friends and needless to say, I’m very excited to play hostess in our new home!
For this particular outing, I decided to rock some sailor vibes – did you know you can wear nautical clothing year around? Yep, you sure can, ESPECIALLY when you live in a highly military area like San Diego ;) plus, it doesn’t hurt that my husband is a retired Merchant Marine either! Lol.
For this look, each article of clothing played off the other. The anchor print on my blouse tied together my glasses, the navy stripe on my skirt, and the body of my “ship” clutch. The vibrant red of the blouse also made the red on the clutch pop as well. The red lips were just an added bonus. From there, I then removed the tarnished gold top button of my blouse and replaced it with a teal blue button that matched the other colored strip of the skirt. And due to the white strip of the skirt as well, I landed on white shoes that had the same gold accents as both my bracelet and clutch; making for a completely new ensemble that almost looked like I purchased it all together. Just kind of like the beautifully-curated merchandise of Pigment in San Diego!
