One of my favorite days in San Diego is finally here = it’s time once again to go where the turf meets in the surf!

That’s right! It’s Opening Day today at the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club – a day I have so looked forward to the past three years! For this year’s event [year four of us attending] I decided to go the “Pop Art” route with my outfit when I ran across this Roy Lichtenstein-esque fascinator on Etsy [man, how I do adore that online store – so much good stuff!] and from there the rest was pretty easy . . .

I reached for an oldie but goodie dress, my bright yellow Ted Baker D purchased for me [gosh] three-ish years ago. I  paired it with the Kate Spade purse I used at my first “Pink Lady” photoshoot for the La Valencia Hotel and decided to also opt for the BAM!/POP! shoe clips from the same designer as my hat. I then finished the look off with my black/white spotted Kate Spade glasses, bright red lips, and my Kate Spade “four eyes” bangle.

The entire ensemble came together so effortlessly and makes me oh-so insanely happy. Now all we have to do today is wade our way through the masses to our table and then try to figure out which of the ponies we should bet on!
