Silk Pajamas On The Go

Anyone who knows me [well, really-really knows me] knows how much I absolutely adore pajama sets . . . but those who read my blog, however, wouldn’t ever really have a clue, because that’s just not something you where out in public, right?! Well, today’s post is a game changer, because this gal is wearing silk pajamas on the go!

See, a few years ago, a little seed was planted in this #stylecrazed mind of mine while I watched this “pajama dressing” video online From The Vogue Closet [a definite must watch!] I found the concept so inspiring and knew it was a look I would be confident in wearing. The only problem was I didn’t feel like I had the exact right threads in my closet for this particular outfit :/ so I waited. Patiently.

Now fast-forward to the first couple months of this year WHEN Nordstrom released Olivia Palermo‘s collaboration with Chelsea28 – a new collection of modern staples with a high-fashion edge! And there it was = the perfect silk set of pajama-esque garments I could wear out for the world to see; a relaxed look that was not only oh-so-Jenna but also enabled my longtime addiction with color.

These two pieces have quickly become a business staple of mine for those end of the week design meetings with my upholstery clients. It’s easy, comfortable, and if I’m going to be completely honest, makes me a little extra happy inside, which may I add your entire wardrobe should be capable of doing ;)

“I always have an idea in the back of my head, but that goes with anything else that I’m doing. There is a sort of vision behind it.” — Olivia Palermo

I just simple paired them with an orange pair of two-piece Steve Madden sandals [you know to play of the silk pattern’s subtle oranges] and that leather Kate Spade backpack my father surprised me with last fall. The rest is closet history!

So have you ever dressed-up a pair of silk pajamas before? Is this a look you may consider trying? I know it’s not a style that’s for everyone but I would love to hear your thoughts on the subject :)
