I’ve never been a huge fan of the maxi dress. In fact, I’ve only ever owned but one. For me, they’re sort of the “sweat pant” of the dress world . . . I mean if you love them and all, that’s awesome for you :) they are just NOT my thing. However, since I am trying to breathe new life into old items in my wardrobe, I am taking this once hasty purchase of mine and am turning it into a fresh look for fall!
And you know what?? I’m surprisingly digging it! Who knew?! I’ve honestly almost gotten rid of this dress SOOO many times. In fact, if you would have told me that I would eventually like wearing this item again, I probably would have told you, “Haha! Yeah right!” It’s simply a style of clothing that isn’t my favorite. Plus, its coloring did absolutely nothing for my pale complexion.
But instead, by laying my faux-everything, motto jacket over this spaghetti-strapped, long number [that I haven’t worn in OVER two years] I was able to create an ensemble that I actually enjoyed to wear = an outfit that was to my level of style. I then gave it some extra flair with one of my most cherished COS necklaces, which I then used as additional color inspiration for matching my handbag and glasses.

I’m seriously a little shocked by how much I’m into this look. It’s fun, absolutely perfect for this fall, AND didn’t cost me a dime, BECAUSE everything came straight from my closet! I’m excited to see what else I can come up with. I’m guessing there are MORE than a few new outfits just waiting to be put together and worn ;) until next time, though, have a fashionably-fun weekend and I’ll be writing you again soon!
