Last week, while out and about in Los Angeles, I decided to stop by Dylan’s Candy Bar to stock up on some goodies for this year’s trick-or-treaters, because like it or not, this Saturday is already Halloween :o
That’s right! The first celebration of the holiday season is almost upon us [crazy, right?] thus today I’m sharing with you one of the easiest ways to fest-up your wardrobe.
The holiday t-shirt is an awesome tool to have in your clothing arsenal. It’s a fun piece you can rock year after year that can be either kept casual or even dressed up. For example, I was in a spunky mood this past Thursday morning, so I threw on this “Witch Better Have My Candy” tee and paired it with my faux-everything jacket :) grey denims and these classic, black booties [shoes btw that are SOOO on trend this year] I then accessorized the look by enhancing the hues of the fur collar with my white glasses and threw in this mousy handbag for some additional cauldron-esque flair – creating a look that’s both effortless and amusing to wear ESPECIALLY for the month of Halloween!
This particular t-shirt you see here has been a long time coming = I loved its play on words, desperately wanted it, but didn’t have the slightest clue as to where to buy it :( so a couple of weeks ago, I had an epiphany and emailed my friends over at 24 Hour Tees to them create it for me [duh, Jenna!] why didn’t I think of that sooner?! If you are not familiar with this establishment, they are quite simply a printing company that specializes in printing t-shirts and printing them fast! Seriously. All I had to do was come up with what I wanted it to say, pick out a style of tee, and they design the t-shirt. Then once I was happy with the layout [I can be a bit picky at times] they printed it up, dropped it in the mail, and BAM! It was on my front doorstep in a few days time. So painless!
“Sometimes I think that the one thing I love most about being an adult is the right to buy candy whenever and wherever I want.” — Ryan Gosling
If only determining which candy to buy at Dylan’s Candy Bar was just as uncomplicated [I do love me some toasted marshmallow Jelly Belly’s though] now I know a holiday t-shirt probably seems like a no brainer to you . . . kind of like candy at a candy store ;) but I think too many of us pass it over as a viable option during the festive season. I mean the possibilities are honestly endless and they will definitely help ease some of the holiday “what to wear” angst on a weekday! Trust me. You’ll be comfy you did!
