As we entered the last quarter of 2014, I discovered myself reviewing my yearly “to-do” list and suddenly realizing I wasn’t as ambitious as I was when I made originally created it. I mean some areas were without question approved upon or ARE definitely happening . . . for instance, The Design Stylist is currently working on the infamous Homebird Upholstery website I’ve only been pining/talking about for almost two years now. [Yes, it’s hilariously sad on my part!] ANYWAY, one bullet point was left untouched = Sing On Stage Again.
This was a BIG goal for me this year, and frustratingly enough [up to this point] it hasn’t happened. Sure, I’ve drunked-ly sung kareoke a couple times in the past few years, but that doesn’t really count in my opinion. SO, here’s my big announcement. Can I get a drumroll please? After much soul searching and quick planning, I’ve decide that in 45-days time, I AM going to perform a little recital for my 30th birthday. I’m calling it “Five For Th$rty” :)
Why “Five For Th$rty”?
As some of you already know, I was a double-music major in college. Yep, I have two degrees: one in Musical Theatre and the other in Music Business. AND, I am not doing anything with them! I guess that’s pretty much the norm nowadays with people and their areas of degree study. But that was never MY plan. Then again, never was divorce at age 27. [HA!] Honestly though, I don’t know what to say past that point. Once I settled in San Diego, music was never the same for me. So, I inevitably walked away from it. I know that’s being incredibly vague and unarguably frustrating to you [my readers] I guess it’s probably time for me to finally disclose how my marriage fell apart four-so years ago, but I need more time for it’s dictation. Today is NOT the time. I will, however, promise to write about it next month; mostly to get it over with ;) but it will also help make LLM make so much more sense. Now where was I? Oh, that’s right. Why “Five For Th$rty”? Well, admittedly enough, I found myself missing it – the art of song! Plus, it’s my thirtieth. Why SHOULDN’T I do something memorable and just for me?! And that’s how it came to be, folks. Simple as that.
I will be performing five songs for the big 3-0!

Stay tuned for more details in the month of November [in case you’re interested] I will also be disclosing at that time as to WHY there is a dollar sing in the title. Until then, here’s one YouTube video of my singing. Enjoy!
