I’ve always very much enjoyed this holiday, because, well, it tends to be one of the simpler celebrations = parades, fireworks, picnic food . . . in this day and age of running around like a bunch of crazy people, I welcome easier festivities – just like today. I’m going to yoga in the morning, having lunch with a girlfriend, and then, once D gets off from work, head on over to one of our favorite couple’s homes for some grilling, friendly chatter, and watch from their backyard Legoland’s patriotic explosions :)
Now, let’s focus on fashion for a quick minute: I find whenever it comes to laidback get-togethers, it’s best to keep your wardrobe as relaxed as the party you’re attending. That’s why all you really need today is a lightweight-cotton tank, some good ole [jean] shorts, and comfortable shoes. In fact, you should keep your makeup informal as well. For example, I’m only going to throw on some SPF-tinted lotion and red-hued lip-gloss. I mean chances are it’s going to be a warm day. Why fight your melting face? The point is to keep your threads down to-earth and your appearance pretty natural. This way you can just relish in the moment.

That’s right! I release you from your closet. Take your glorious independence into your own hands and make it a “Plain Jane” sort of day! You’ll honestly be glad you did. Oh, and don’t skip the S’mores. In fact, eat two just for me ;) and have fun!
