LLM Loves: June 2014

There are SO many things I love about this season: the taste of watermelon after a hot day, the smell of our neighbors grilling with charcoal, the chill of the summer night air on your skin . . . it’s one of the most beautiful times of the year. And although, June is flying by in a tizzy, I am still managing to find periods each day to stop and enjoy it. I even manage to find some products to help relish in it!

LLM Loves: June 2014

#1. Awesome Planters

This is the awesome company where I found Fran’s awesome planter = they are über lightweight, durable, and come in an awesome array of colors.

#2. Sullybrate

I think it’s safe to say that Sullybrate is my current favorite shop on Etsy; not only does she tug at my “English Bulldog” heart strings, BUT Sully literally looks like he could be our fatty, Hazel’s, long-lost brother. Plus, who doesn’t want to give these adorable greeting cards to someone they love!?

#3. Marc Alary For J.Crew Birdberry Earrings

Marc Alary was the 2013 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Award Runner-Up. He creates whimsical designs that I simply adore AND since I’m such a lover of all things bluebird-related [I mean they are the symbol of happiness] these were an astounding MUST-HAVE!

#4. Hermes Printed Bracelet in Carré Cube

I’ve never been one to own or buy myself expensive jewelry . . . but D decided to change that on our last Vegas trip and left me [almost] speechless. I’m just in awe. I’m also not one to really wear bracelets. I guess this will be my new thing ;)

#5. St. Vincent’s New Self-Titled Album

Obsessed is the only word I can use. This album has been playing in my studio on REPEAT ever since I saw St. Vincent’s wild performance on SNL. Her music is this mix of alternative with new age “Madonna” flair. Love, love, LOVE!

#6. Blue Diamond Bold Salt’n Vinegar Almonds

These are my new go-to snack. I’ve always liked this flavor combination and was happy to find such a healthier alternative to my Kettle Chips. Warning, however, it’s impossible to only eat a few.

#7. Jay Robb’s Fruit-Flush 3-Day Detox

Yep, this is the detox I told you about the other day. I know I made it sound awful, but in the end, it DID make me feel phenomenal. It’s also a good, quick read filled with such common sense it will make your head spin.

#8. Wizard of Oz Cast Eyeglass Glasses Case & Cleaning Cloth

Remember how I lost my glasses? Well, those glasses were also in this eyeglass case my father had bought for me. Yea, I lost that too :( BUT my father is pretty stellar. He actually hunted down another case for me and surprised me with it via snail mail. I had no idea that Amazon even carried them! AND who knew they had so many different characters!

#9. Steaz Lime Pomegranate Iced Green Tea

Per my 2014 To-Do’s, I’ve been slowly eating less sugar and extra fruits/veggies. “Jenna” quitting sweet tea was a huge deal, but I survived and am now happy to report that I’ve adjusted to green tea quite nicely. This is a wonderful on-the-go option I found at Cream of the Crop in Oceanside. You can buy them online too.

#10. 22 Jump Street

I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by the second movie. I went in expecting the worst and ended laughing so hard my stomach hurt – as good as the first!

“If you look at a thing, the very fact of your looking changes it . . . if you think about yourself, the very fact changes you.” – Robert Penn Warren

Well, that’s my “loves” for the month. Isn’t it so crazy that we’re almost through June ALREADY?! I’m not even certain what our July 4th plans are yet! Geez. SLOW DOWN, CALENDAR!
