Angry Hips

I guess I spoke too soon on Friday :/ because my hips are back with a vengeance!

The good news is, however, there’s an easy solution for this little predicament I find myself in this Monday morning = all I really need to do is get my Onzie-wearing booty to Peace Love & Yoga for some quality mat time! Yep, since November 2012, yoga has been my go-to problem solver.

Need a good overall body workout?

Go to yoga.

Want to calm your inner turmoil?

Go to yoga.

Have aching shoulders from your upholstery work?

Go to yoga.

It’s quite simply my remedy for everything! I am forever grateful to my D for suggesting we try this practice over a year ago. It’s changed my life in so many wonderful ways . . . but that’s another story for another time. Anyway, back to my tight pelvic joints: I think the reason I was feeling so great last week is because I tried out Peace Love & Yoga’s new class, Flow & Restore, with the phenomenal Julia Chen. Have you heard about it? This class starts with a mellow Vinyasa flow to develop heat and strength within, then moves to a floor sequence, where postures are held for longer periods of time, focusing on improving flexibility in the hips, legs, and spin. At that point, the class ends with a restorative posture to promote relaxation and stress reduction. [The answer to any anxiety-filled artist’s prayers!] AND the best part is its taught in a warm room, not the usual hot, SO all of us March Madness participants can take a breather and check in with ourselves.

Just take my suggestion and give the class a try ;) I’m honestly SURE you will love it!
