You’ve probably realized by now that I’m a vintage-loving chic. I know it’s not an uncommon thing anymore. It’s almost an epidemic right now in our society ;) causing women across America to turn into these thrift shop-hungry heevans fighting over some art deco vase or mid-century modern dresser. The good news is, however, us ladies don’t really have to duke it out when it comes to retro looks, because today’s designers seem to be pulling from ALL genres to inspire today’s fashions.
Take today’s #stylecrazed for example: nothing I’m wearing is actually vintage. It’s all items I have purchased sometime in the past five years that have just been hanging in my closet. Yes, it took a little time and energy to pair this outfit together, but the end result was something both contemporary yet groovy! And I didn’t have to spend hours going through round clothing racks at the DAV. I mean there is always an occasion for some fun, second-hand shopping. I just find it hard to fit in my schedule.
“I think the idea of mixing luxury and mass-market fashion is very modern, very now – no one wears head-to-toe designer anymore.” – Alexander McQueen
I believe most women would be surprised by how many different eras are actually available in their wardrobe – all you need to do it take a closer look!
