Festivities started Friday night with girlfriends, drinks, and tapas at Solterra Winery & Kitchen on the 101 in Leucadia. Saturday, I slept-in, did a bit of work in the afternoon, and then had sushi with my upholstery mentor and friend, Eric. On Sunday [my actual birthday] I was led into it blindly because D knows how much I love surprises. He ran out and got us breakfast. We watched the Chiefs dominate the Redskins. [HUZZAH!] We drank red wine. We laughed. We even took the dogs on a nice walk. He also gave me this crazy gorgeous, rose gold necklace and ALL of the Beatles studio albums and past masters on vinyl. Yea, he definitely knows me ;) he then ended my best birthday yet with supper at Poseidon in Del Mar, more red wine, and an evening of dancing the night away.
“Birthdays are good for you. Statistics show that the people who have the most live the longest.” – Larry Lorenzoni
If hearts could explode with insane amounts of happy, mine would have definitely blown through my chest.
