You were up early, dashing through aisles, waiting in long lines for some amazing deal . . .
But were the sales this morning [honestly] worth it?!
Now, I am no saint ;) I too have done the whole Black Friday shopping epidemic. However, I can proudly say it’s been two years since my participation, and you know what? I am totally okay with it. In fact, my shopping is already done. [Thanks, online heaven!] Okay, but that’s not the point. I want to talk about something more important than the mega retailers selling X-Y-Z amounts of dollars. Instead, let’s discuss tomorrow’s valuable transactions. Small Business Saturday [a.k.a. Shop Small] is a day dedicated to supporting small businesses across this country [like Homebird Upholstery]. It was founded by American Express in 2010 and is now celebrated each and every year on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Yep and that’s tomorrow! Last year, I even hired a local craftsman to create a men’s jewelry box for D – it was one of the best items I have ever had the pleasure of gifting! And the extra added bonus: I contributed money to our local economy!
“And what most people don’t understand is the bulk of business in this country is small business.” – Alphonso Jackson
So, please support America’s true backbone and shop small, people. SHOP SMALL!
