Mother-In-Law’s Tongue

Meet Betty!

She’s our new Sansevieria trifasciata [yea, I’m not sure how to pronounce that either] residing in our living room. In the perennial world, she’s also known as a snake plant . . . or even a Mother-In-Law’s Tongue, which I find H-I-LARIOUS [of course]. I’ve wanted to add some indoor plants like Betty around our place since we moved in. We have a couple already; one on my nightstand from my old apartment and an orchid a friend gave us at our Super Housewarming Bowl back in February. But I still thought we could use a few more ;) see my mother has a splendid green thumb. In fact, the house I grew up in actually had a green house on the front of it, so I’m pretty accustomed to having plants throughout the home. What can I say? She has always inspired me to bring a little more green into any space.

“I grow plants for many reasons: to please my eye or to please my soul, to challenge the elements or to challenge my patience, for novelty or for nostalgia, but mostly for the joy in seeing them grow. – David Hobson

I think Betty’s a nice addition to our ever-changing entertaining space!

Please, share your thoughts about this post. Be kind & play nice.
