Apple & Fig Grilled Brie

Monday, Monday . . .

I spent the weekend trying some new recipes – a couple from a friend’s Pinterest page and one other from my own guessing. My inspiration? Well, this is my own take on one of my favorite sandwiches from Boudin Sourdough Bakery & Café: Apple & Fig Grilled Brie.



4 slices sourdough bread [I used Trader Joe’s Tuscan Pane.]

1 Granny Smith apple

fig butter


Directions: Turn your oven on to broil. Lay four slices of bread on a sheet pan. Cover two of the slices with Brie and the other two with fig butter. Place the bread in the oven. Divide the apple into ¼-inch thick pieces. Once the Brie is melted and a little toasted, remove from the oven. Lay the apple pieces on the fig butter slices. Place the Brie-covered slices on top of the fig/apple slices, cut the sandwich into two halves, and devour!

I’m not sure why, but more often than not, food made at home just always tastes better ;) ENJOY!
